I kept screaming at the TV 'No you won't because...he's... DEAD!'
If JK kills Remus I might totally lose it.

Of course nobody cared that Sirius was chronically depressed. Or even noticed. I don't think he could ever be suicidal because he would want to be there for Harry. The thought that someone still needs him would keep him going. But yeah...if you drink SO much during the day that you reek of it at night, you've got a problem. And he had a lot of other signs too like not properly taking care of himself, withdrawing, etc. If you look up depression symptoms on Google he displays almost ALL of them (we can include substance abuse because of the booze), which is indeed depressing.
